What does peace look like?

Maybe it looks like musicians from warring sides in the Middle East rehearsing together with great concentration in Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. When you play in an ensemble, you have to listen to each other and recognize each player as an individual rather than as a member of an enemy group.

On a more private level, peace looks like a restful moment. Me, lying in a hammock, asleep with my three month old son, a fractious baby, but now, for a short while, resting in the same position as his mother, one arm above his head.
